About
My path into motorsports started long before I ever sat in a full-size race car. Before transitioning into professional automotive racing, I competed as a professional RC car racer, traveling internationally and racing for multiple manufacturers. That early experience taught me the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics, preparation, and consistency—lessons that still shape how I approach motorsports today.
I am a Clemson University–trained engineer and have spent the last 13 years working in the motorsports industry. Throughout that time, I’ve focused on developing structured, repeatable systems to ensure both car and driver are properly prepared before ever arriving at the track. Preparation, reliability, and thoughtful planning have always been at the core of my approach.
I currently compete in road racing and was honored as the 2023 NASA Southeast Rookie of the Year. I am also a NASA-certified Driving Instructor, working with drivers across a wide range of experience levels—from first-time track participants to those refining an established program. Helping drivers arrive confident, prepared, and focused on enjoying their time on track is a priority in everything I do.
Professionally, I’ve had the opportunity to work with teams and organizations across many disciplines of motorsports, including NASCAR, NHRA, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and other competitive racing environments. Those experiences have provided valuable perspective on what it takes to build reliable, effective programs at every level of the sport.
Pettit Performance exists to apply those lessons in a practical, driver-focused way—supporting drivers who want to spend more time driving, less time troubleshooting, and ultimately have better, more enjoyable track days.
